Intu OnlineHSC Mathematics Extension 1 is the second highest level of maths completed at high school in New South Wales. Students sit two HSC exams; HSC Mathematics Extension 1 (2 hours) and HSC Mathematics Advanced (3 hours).
As part of the content from Advanced Mathematics students will investigate topics such as Integral Calculus, Advanced Trigonometry, Financial Mathematics, Radom Variables and The Normal Distribution.
The course introduces students to more advanced mathematics topics such as Differential Equations, Advanced Trigonometry, Vectors and the Binomial Distribution.
The course aims to give students an introduction to higher levels of applied mathematics. It also provides the basis to further studies in STEM degrees at University. In fact many degrees mandate Mathematics Extension 1 as the minimum required for the degree.
Our courses are all inclusive - this means we teach all the relevant topics from HSC Mathematics Extension 1 and HSC Mathematics Advanced.

Intu OnlineThe timeline below illustrates how we progress through Year 12, starting from Term 4, 2020 to the end of the HSC in 2021.
This course is a continuation of our Term 4 Weekly Course. The entire HSC syllabus will be covered by the end of Term 2, leaving ample time for revision and exam preparation.
2.5 hour weekly classes covering course content and developing critical exam style technique
1.5 hour weekly tutorials to correct homework mistakes and to address any additional questions
An exam to replicate the exam settings for the HSC
This is a stand-alone course. It is a question-based course that provides topic by topic revision of the entire syllabus. Students are exposed to a wide array of exam style questions aimed to consolidate knowledge and increase confidence.
View CourseA series of mock HSC examinations conducted under strict exam conditions to acclimatise students to systematic problem solving in a time-pressured environment. All exams are marked in accordance with NESA marking criteria, followed by exam reviews and tutorials.
Student's studying HSC Mathematics (Ext 1) will also sit a second HSC Mathematics exam in their HSC.
This exam represents more than half of the overall marks that students can earn in mathematics. Each course is focused on the particular exam and mirrors the exams that will be sat in trials and the HSC.
