Intu Remote LearningHSC Mathematics Advanced is the first calculus based course completed at high school in New South Wales. Students sit one HSC exam; HSC Mathematics Advanced (3 hours).
As part of the content from Advanced Mathematics students will investigate topics such as Integral Calculus, Advanced Trigonometry, Financial Mathematics, Radom Variables and The Normal Distribution.
The course shares some content (and some HSC questions) with the Mathematics Standard 2 paper (a non-calculus based course). Since 2020 there is a common scale of marking between the Advanced and Standard courses. This has been done to ensure students study the right level for them. The HSC Mathematics Advanced course provides students with the skills and knowledge required at University for a wide variety of degrees (not just STEM degrees).
